None the less, this router is packed with features. That is why I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you update the firmware to the latest version upon purchase, because most likely it’s going to be an older version that my be buggy. New routers always seem to be buggy for a few months to a year, which is why they constantly have firmware updates. There are a fair amount of negative reviews that I think can be mostly attributed to firmware issues. The one thing I will say is I’ve dealt with MANY routers in my life & I have had great success with the Netgear Nighthawks. There are probably tons of videos and speed tests you can look up to make that decision…….I just want to give you the price & let you know Costco carries this model. I’m not going to get into the specific differences for the nighthawk models. My previous home was situated so that the plumbing in m stack caused network interference on the patio in a 990 sqft condo.Similar to the Netgear Nighthawk AX6 AX4300 WiFi 6 Router from my other post, this is the upgraded model which is the Netgear Nighthawk AX8 AX5700. But frankly I think any router will be an upgrade over my current 10-year old Netgear WNDR3700. Select Costco locations have the Netgear Nighthawk X6S AC3600 Tri-Band WiFi Router on sale for 149.99 (after instant savings), now through February 2. I've read through many discussions here on mesh systems and it seems this would eliminate some of my dead zone issues. No video games, no kids streaming videos endlessly. We watch movies occasionally and both currently work from home, but I don't see too much demand on the network traffic. As it is now, I often loose the signal in the far corners of my home (basic 2 story house) with the router placed centrally on the 1st floor. home, about 7-8 "connected" devices and not much else. ![]() I am looking for a decent upgrade to a 10 year old router currently in use. ![]()
